Building on the work students began in the first Cam Jansen:The Mystery of the Stolen Diamonds Book Club meeting, they will use the 5 W's and 1 H to ask and answer questions about each of the characters in the story. Students will use their questions to determine whether or not each of the characters is a suspect in the robbery of Parker's Jewelry Store.

This Book Club meeting for Cam Jansen: The Mystery of the Stolen Diamonds by David A. Adler focuses on asking and answering questions about the key details in the text. This skill is reinforced with the I Have/Who Has interactive game.

The final Book Club meeting provides the opportunity for students to explore what to do when they can't find the answers to their questions in the text. (Hint: Making inferences to the rescue!) Students will practice using text evidence to make an inference by playing an inferencing game that focuses on character emotions.

Use this six-question assessment to determine whether or not students understand the key concepts associated with asking and answering questions.
