Readers can infer what a character in Charlotte's Web thinks and feels by examining the things the character says and does. Students will add descriptions to their Character Maps by looking for evidence of each character's personality in dialogue and actions.

In Charlotte's Web, author EB White has included a lot of characters. This meeting focuses on identifying connections between characters to learn which ones are most important and how the characters effect one another.

Students will be able to find characters they like and dislike in Charlotte's Web and identify reasons for their opinion. When readers form an opinion of the characters in the story, it shows that they are comprehending what they are reading.

Students have developed detailed Character Maps of the characters author EB White included in Charlotte's Web. By paying careful attention to the details of the text, students know the characters well enough to write a biography of the character.
