When she lands in a bird's nest, she's adopted by a family of birds under one condition–she must give up her bat habits and make an effort to fit in with her new family. Will Stellaluna ever see her mom again? Will she reclaim her bat-like characteristics? Students will enjoy making predictions throughout this exciting story, while also practicing retelling and summarizing, making inferences, and identifying the author’s purpose.
